The Robert Gore Rifkind Center for German Expressionist Studies

The Robert Gore Rifkind Center for German Expressionist Studies is a research facility devoted to the study of the Expressionist movement that flourished in Germany during the early 20th century. The Rifkind Center houses an extensive collection of approximately 6,000 prints and drawings and a library of over 10,000 volumes, transcending the conventional role of a graphic art cabinet to facilitate the comprehensive study of the seminal modernist movement. The collection is available by appointment.

秒速快3 The Center is committed to an active exhibition program that includes rotations of the permanent collection as well as larger touring exhibitions accompanied by publications. The Center also hosts a scholar-in-residence program though generous support from the Robert Gore Rifkind Foundation.

Scholar-in-Residence

Scholars may apply to conduct research in the Rifkind Center, generally for a period of one to four weeks. The scholar will receive a grant to cover airfare, accommodations, and per diem expenses. Applications may be submitted by letter or email and should include a brief description of the proposed project, CV, and preferred starting date. While there is no deadline, applications should be sent several months prior to the proposed residency. It is best to propose a project that makes specific use of the Center’s resources, which can be perused through LACMA’s online collection database, WorldCat, and print publications including the Rifkind collection catalogue.
